Vent: everyone buys the $40 stain pens when a $3 box of crayons does the same job
I was fixing a scratch on my kitchen table last month and my neighbor swore I needed one of those wood filler marker sets, but I grabbed my kid's old crayon box instead and rubbed a brown one right into the groove. It matched perfectly and cost me nothing since the crayons were already in a drawer, and then I used a hair dryer on low to melt it smooth. Has anyone else tried this on deeper gouges or does it only work on the light surface scratches?
