Found $47 in leftover cash after our grocery audit last week

Me and my roommate sat down with all our receipts from September and compared them to what we actually used. We realized we were buying things like that big bag of onions for 8 bucks but only using half before they went bad. Also noticed we grabbed a fancy cheese every week that we barely touched. After trimming those two things alone, we freed up almost 50 bucks for November. Has anyone else found a hidden money drain just by looking at what you actually eat?

Cilantro is the ultimate grocery scam, it taunts you from the crisper drawer for a week then turns into sad green slime. The fancy cheese thing hits hard too, we all think we're gonna be bougie but really we just want shredded cheddar. Maybe your cilantro and my overpriced goat cheese are living together on some farm upstate, never getting eaten. At least you caught it before buying a third bunch, that's the real win. Soon we'll all be auditing our spice racks and realizing we own three different kinds of paprika for no reason.

that big bag of onions for 8 bucks but only using half" was literally me with cilantro last month. I don't even like cilantro that much, what was I thinking.
