The journal aisle at my local Barnes & Noble in Boise changed how I think about fancy supplies
I was killing time at the Barnes & Noble on Milwaukee Ave in Boise last Saturday and wandered into the journal section. What caught my eye was a whole shelf of $35 to $45 dotted notebooks with thick paper and vegan leather covers, and people were actually grabbing them two at a time. Here is my beef: everyone online acts like you need one of those pricey books or your spreads will fall apart, but my $8 composition book from Walmart has held up for 14 months of daily use and the paper barely ghosts with my fineliners. I get that nice paper feels good, but I think the supply obsession is backwards, the habit matters way more than the book. Curious if anyone here actually switched back to cheap notebooks after using the fancy ones, or am I the only one who thinks this way?
