Dropped $280 on a used Hobart grinder at an auction in Gary, and the gear box is shot
Won the bid thinking I got a steal since new ones run over $2,000. Got it home and ran a few pounds of pork butt through it, and the auger started grinding metal on metal within 10 minutes. Turns out the gear box was bone dry and the teeth are chewed up, and a rebuild kit is another $400. Anyone know a good repair shop near Northwest Indiana, or should I just cut my losses and part it out?
