Appreciation post: the old timer at the Daytona Beach job taught me to label every drop before I pull a single line
Six years back I was on a 60 unit condo job in Daytona Beach and this guy named Ray, retired Navy, watched me run coax like a maniac for an hour. He never said a word. Then he hands me a roll of blue tape and says "mark the drops before you pull, son, or you'll be the guy who repulls in the rain." Sure enough, next day a helper yanked my bundle wrong side and I lost 40 minutes fishing a line back through a firewall because I had no tag on it. Ray just stood there sipping his coffee, not even smug about it. Now I keep a sharpie in my shirt pocket and number every drop at the plate before it goes in. Cost me nothing, saved me two truck rollbacks last month alone. Anybody got a tag system that beats tape and sharpie? Mine keeps falling off in the attic heat.
