My kid asked why I still hum the MTV theme and I didn't have a good answer
We were flipping through channels in the car and he asked what "want your MTV" even meant. I tried explaining the moon man and the bumpers between videos and it came out sounding like nonsense, but now I want to know if anyone taped those station IDs back in the day. Does anyone still have a VHS with the old MTV or Nickelodeon sign offs on it?

Man, it's just a jingle from a channel that played music videos, not the moon landing. Some folks hoard old VHS tapes of this stuff, but I wouldn't lose sleep over not having an answer for your kid.
