Just realized the 3 month wait for a disability hearing is not always bad
I applied for SSDI in San Diego and got denied twice, then requested a hearing with an ALJ. I was mad about the wait until a guy at the Oakland office explained that cases with more medical records get better odds. I kept going to my doctors during those 11 months and added 4 new visits to my file. When I finally had my hearing in February, the judge actually quoted my rheumatologist's notes. My back pay came to $9,340 because of the wait. Has anyone else used the extra time to build up records instead of just waiting?
