Tried soaking a sticky aperture ring in naphtha and it came back looser than I wanted
Had a stuck aperture ring on an old 50mm so I dropped the whole ring assembly in a jar of naphtha for about 20 minutes. It freed up fine, but now the clicks are so light I can barely feel them and the ring spins with almost no drag, which tells me I washed out whatever grease was left in the detent. I'm guessing the fix is pulling it apart and putting a small dab of damping grease back in, but I don't want to guess wrong. Anyone here have a go-to grease for rebuilding click stops, or did I just ruin this one?
