Vent: That flex cable on the Mamiya RB67 ate 2 full afternoons of my life

Ngl, I almost lost it last month. Customer brought in an RB67 that was firing but the shutter stayed open. I figured it was the usual body lens coupling, checked that first. Nope. Then I chased the solenoid for a while. Then I finally looked at the flex cable between the body and the lens board. Tiny crack in one of the traces, almost invisible. I swapped it out and it worked, but it took me about 11 hours total across two days because I kept second guessing myself. Has anyone else had a similar hidden break on those old rotating back cables? What's your go to method for finding those quickly?

Used to think you could always trace those faults by just wiggling the cable and watching the meter, but this totally showed me how sneaky hairline cracks can be. I mean, the break barely moved even when I bent the flex pretty hard, so my old trick of flex-testing every joint would've missed it for sure. Now I just go straight to a magnifier and a continuity check on every single trace before I touch anything else.
