Went to a vintage camera show last weekend and saw three different guys using the same broken shutter spring trick from the 70s

One of them was fixing a Pentax Spotmatic with a paperclip and a rubber band which honestly worked better than any new part I've seen has anyone else noticed the old field repair methods coming back or is it just my area?

That whole scene tracks with something I've noticed across the board. People are getting tired of buying new junk that breaks in six months, so they're digging up the old tricks that actually lasted. A paperclip fix beats a fifty dollar part from a company that doesn't even make the camera anymore.

Did you ever hear what happened to my buddy @jordan330? He had this old film camera that the shutter was stuck on, and instead of sending it off for repair he actually fixed it with a piece of a soda can and some superglue. Thing still works to this day, just gotta be careful not to shake it too hard in the cold.
