A ranger in Shenandoah called out my tent stakes and I still think about it
Last October I was setting up at Big Meadows and a ranger walked over, picked up my cheap aluminum stakes, and said, 'these will fold the first time the wind hits 20 mph.' He showed me how the ground was all rocky and loose, then handed me a set of heavy steel ones to borrow for the night. The next morning a storm rolled through and my tent barely moved while three other sites collapsed around me. Has anyone else had a gear failure that a stranger predicted before it actually happened?
