Shoutout to the guy at the REI garage sale who told me to skip the $200 sleeping pad and just double up on closed cell foam
I was all set to drop $200 on an ultralight inflatable pad for my trip to the Wallowa Mountains because everyone on here swears by them, but this old timer at the garage sale in Portland told me to grab two $25 closed cell pads and stack them instead. I tried it and slept better than I have in years, plus I don't have to worry about punctures or that stupid inflation bag dance. Has anyone else gone back to cheap foam after years of chasing the newest pad tech?
