I finally learned why my grandma's generation all retired with pensions, and the numbers floored me
I was reading an old Department of Labor report from 1980 at the library last week and saw that about 38 percent of private workers had a pension back then compared to around 15 percent now, which explains a lot about why my grandma retired at 58 and I'll be lucky to stop at 67, so I'm curious if anyone here has crunched similar numbers for their own field.
