TIL a lot of guys are still not using a power stretcher on every single glue-down job
I was helping a friend finish a big office job in Tempe last month, and he was just kicking in the carpet with his knee. The next day, we had a call back for ripples in the main hallway. I told him my rule: if it's over 15 feet in any direction, the power stretcher comes out, no excuses. It adds maybe 20 minutes to the job but saves a ton of headaches later. How do you all decide when to break out the big stretcher versus just a knee kicker?

Knee kicker's fine for most rooms, isn't it?

Forget room size, check the carpet type first. Some backing just won't hold without serious pressure.
