Can we settle the dry beans vs canned beans fight for cheap meals?
I bought a 4 pound bag of dry pinto beans at WinCo for $3.48 to save money, but the first batch took me 3 days to get right because I kept forgetting to soak them overnight and one pot came out crunchy. My roommate says canned beans at 89 cents a can are worth it since you skip all that hassle, but that adds up fast when you cook beans twice a week like we do. So which side are you on, is the savings from dry beans worth the planning, or do you just keep a case of cans in the pantry?
