My $4 rice cooker beats the $60 one I got at Target
I got a $4 rice cooker from a garage sale in Fresno two months ago, mostly as a backup for when my nice Target one died, and the cheap one has been running every week since. The weird thing is the $4 one makes better rice because it only has one setting, so it cooks slow and steams the whole time instead of rushing it, and I've stopped using the fancy one completely. Has anyone else noticed that the cheap single button cookers beat the ones with all the settings?
Breaking news: man discovers that doing one thing well beats doing twenty things badly, more at 11. There's probably a life lesson buried in your garage sale rice cooker but I'm too busy laughing at the fact that Target owes you $56. It's wild how we keep buying gadgets with more buttons and then the dumbest, cheapest option just quietly does the job better. Next you're gonna tell me a $2 rock from the creek makes a better doorstop than the fancy one with the rubber grip.
