Passed on a $19k Victorian in Indiana, bought the $32k one next door, and the foundation bill just hit $11,400
The cheap one had a cracked sill plate the inspector called "old house stuff" but the second quote found rot under the whole front wall. Did anyone here ever walk away from the lower price and regret it, or does the cheap house always end up costing more?
