Bought a $400 probe and it paid for itself in a week
Had to do a bunch of one-off parts last month for a local fab shop in Toledo. Got tired of manual edge finding on every setup, so I picked up one of those cheap probe kits, think it was around $400 with shipping. Set it up on my Hass and honestly it took me an afternoon to figure out the macros. Ended up running 30 different small runs that week and probably saved 8 hours of setup time compared to my old way. Now I'm wondering if I should have gone with a more expensive one with better repeatability. Has anyone else run a budget probe and seen it drift on them after a few months?
