Pro tip: my lead hand told me to stop checking parts with the chuck spinning and it fixed my scrapped run
Two months ago I scrapped 11 parts in a row on a 3 inch aluminum hub because I kept micing them while the spindle was still coasting down, and my lead hand Rick finally said "you're measuring chatter, not the part." Now I hit cycle stop and wait for a full stop every single time, and my scrap count on that job went to zero over the last 400 pieces. Does anybody else's shop have an unwritten rule about when you're allowed to touch a part, or is it just us?
