My first git push went to the wrong repo and now I'm banned from my own project
Last Tuesday I was at a coffee shop in Austin, about 2 weeks into learning git. I thought I finally understood remote branches. I typed git push origin main and felt so proud. Turns out I was in the wrong folder. I pushed my practice code into my friend's actual work repo. He got a notification, called me, and I had to explain while the barista stared at me. I spent an hour trying to undo it and somehow made it worse. Did anyone else break something this bad when they first started? How do I get over the fear of touching git again?
