Rant: My French press shattered at 4am on I-80 in Nebraska

Was pulling over for a quick coffee break near Ogallala last Tuesday. Had my trusty French press sitting on the passenger seat wrapped in a towel like always. Hit a bump getting off the exit and heard that awful crack sound. Glass and coffee grounds everywhere inside the cab. Drove the next 200 miles without caffeine and nearly fell asleep at the wheel twice. That was my third French press in two years, they just can't take road vibrations. Anyone found a travel mug that actually brews decent coffee without being fragile?

Why would you bring a GLASS press on a road trip anyway?

Three days into a road trip and you're vacuum sealing your tinctures in a park ranger station. That's not a press, that's a glass paperweight with trust issues. Bet you left the matching funnel at home too, right? At least when the feds pull you over you can claim it's an antique butter churn.
