The diner cook in Bakersfield poured my espresso over ice without asking and it was the best cup I had all year
Stopped at a little diner off Highway 99 in Bakersfield last spring. I ordered an espresso just to get some caffeine in me before the drive home. The cook grabbed my cup before I could say anything and dumped it over a glass of ice. I almost said something rude, but I drank it anyway. The cold cut the bitter edge and I could actually taste the chocolate notes in the beans for the first time. Now I drink iced espresso at home 4 mornings a week and my hot machine mostly sits there. Anybody else get converted by a mistake someone else made with their coffee?
