My neighbor's storm drain clue made me rethink how I mow my lawn after 8 years

Caught my neighbor shaking his head at my grass clippings piling up near the curb, then he pointed to the clogged storm drain that flooded my driveway back in March, so I started bagging every third pass and now I'm wondering if anyone else has had a simple fix like that change their whole yard routine?

Man, for eight years I figured bagging was just for people with fancy lawns or HOA types who had nothing better to do. Then last fall I watched my own mulch pile wash right into the grate after a hard rain, and it hit me that my clippings were basically doing the same thing your neighbor warned you about. Now I do that every third pass trick too, and the difference is wild, my curb actually dries out now instead of staying soggy for a week. It takes me an extra ten minutes but it beats scooping leaves out of the drain with a stick while cursing my own setup.
