Hot take: I tried cleaning my flat top with just vinegar and water for a week
I read online that a simple 50/50 mix could replace my usual chemical degreaser to save money. The griddle ended up with a weird, sticky film that took an hour of scrubbing to remove. Has anyone found a cheap but actually effective homemade cleaner that doesn't leave residue?

That whole "natural is always better and cheaper" idea gets pushed so hard online. It feels like we're all just doing chemistry experiments on our own stuff now, hoping to avoid buying a six dollar bottle of something that actually works. The time and effort wasted on sticky griddles or cloudy windows ends up costing more than the product you were trying to avoid. There's a weird pride in making things harder than they need to be.

Spent a whole weekend trying to clean with vinegar and baking soda. Ended up with streaky floors and a sink that smelled like pickles. The "all natural" laundry soap left our clothes stiff and gray. Sometimes the modern stuff was invented for a reason, to actually solve the problem without the extra drama.
