Why I stopped trusting the express bus after 3 weeks of trying it

Everyone in this group swears by the express bus to downtown, but I tried it for 3 weeks straight and it was a mess. The schedule said 22 minutes, but I hit traffic delays twice and once we sat for 15 minutes because the driver forgot a turn in Aurora. The regular local route gets me there in 35 minutes on a bad day, and honestly the extra walking is fine. Has anyone else found the express line to be more hype than help, or did I just catch a rotten streak?
