I finally stopped guessing why a client's PC kept rebooting, and it was the dang power strip
A guy I do house calls for in Dayton kept saying "it only dies when I lean back in my chair," which sounded like nonsense until I noticed his foot nudging the strip under the desk. Swapped a $12 strip and he's been solid for 3 weeks now. Funny how often the dumbest answer is the real one, what's your weirdest "it was the power strip" moment?
Sounds like the client's chair was the real culprit and the strip just took the blame. Next time check if they're playing footsies with the electronics before you break out the toolbox.
