Swapped out a cheap PSU for a Seasonic and my mystery crashes stopped

I spent 6 months chasing random BSODs in a build for a client in Austin. Changed RAM, ran every diagnostic, nothing worked. Finally caved and swapped their generic 500w for a Seasonic Focus Gold and the problem vanished immediately. Anyone else ever had a power supply waste that much of your time?

Oh man, I feel this in my soul. I literally threw a brand new PSU into a box of shame after it cost me a week of troubleshooting, only to find out later it was the one part I never suspected.

Yeah the "swapped out a cheap PSU" part hit close to home. Had a similar mess with my own rig a couple years back. Put in a EVGA 600B that was fine for almost a year, then started getting random freezes during games. No BSODs just hard locks. Replaced the GPU, ram, even the mobo before I finally swapped the PSU with a Corsair RMx. Never froze again. Thing that ticked me off was the EVGA tested fine with a multimeter and a basic load tester, but it was clearly sagging under transient spikes.
