Tried a new magnesium float on a garage slab after using a steel one for years
We poured a 24x24 garage floor last Thursday and I brought a new magnesium float to test. The steel one I always used would start to drag and stick after about 20 minutes, but the magnesium one just glided over the surface the whole time. It left a much cleaner finish with way less effort, especially in the warmer afternoon sun. Anyone else made that switch and noticed a big difference in how the cream comes up?

My uncle swore by his old steel float for decades. He finally tried a magnesium one on a small patio job last summer and was shocked. He said it was like the difference between pushing a shovel through wet clay and sliding a spatula over icing. He won't touch the steel one now, even for rough work.

Same here, I was a steel diehard until I tried magnesium.
