My $12 thrift store DVD player ate disc 3 of The Wire and I finally tried the old toothpaste trick
Last Tuesday the thing started skipping so bad I took the disc out, rubbed a tiny dot of toothpaste on it with a q-tip under the faucet, dried it with a coffee filter, and it played clean the whole rest of the episode, so now I want to know if anyone else has fixed a scratched disc without a $30 resurfacing machine.
