My brother swore I'd hate the $5 DVD bin at Half Price Books, and he was right for 6 months
He kept saying the discs in those bins are all scratched and it's a waste of money. Then one night I was bored and dug through one anyway. Found a copy of The Sandlot with a tiny scratch on the edge that played fine, plus a random 90s comedy. I've grabbed maybe 4 more since then and 2 of them skip in the last 20 minutes. So he was half right. Now I check every disc with a flashlight before I buy it. Kinda takes the fun out of it. Anyone else have a system for checking used DVDs in the store or do you just gamble and hope?
