Used to roll my eyes at writing prompts that involved random generators, but a 2 AM session with a "fantasy city name" prompt gave me a fully fleshed out marketplace scene.
I always thought those prompt generators were for people who couldn't come up with their own ideas. But last week I used one for a character name, and it bizarrely led to building a whole backstory about a merchant who trades in forgotten memories. Has anyone else had a random prompt suddenly unlock a whole story for you?

Wait, isn't that how all good stories start?

The last time I tried something like that, I ended up driving 4 hours to a random town because a guy on Reddit said there was a "can't miss" burger spot. Spoiler alert, it was closed on Tuesdays, and I got a parking ticket. So yeah, @cameron426 you're not wrong, but maybe just bring a snack and check the hours first. Also, pack a backup plan because half the fun is the story when things go sideways.
