Question about switching from LastPass to Bitwarden
I finally made the switch from LastPass to Bitwarden last week after that big breach in 2022. The difference in how they handle sharing passwords with family is night and day. Bitwarden lets me create separate folders for each person and set exact permissions without paying extra. LastPass wanted $48 a year just for basic family sharing. Has anyone else found the import process tricky or is it just me messing something up?

Oh the import was a pain for me too, kept losing my secure notes with the attachments. I ended up having to export everything to a CSV file first and then clean it up in Excel before importing again. What finally worked was exporting each folder one at a time from LastPass instead of doing the whole vault at once. Did you try the manual import option through the Bitwarden web vault or did you use the browser extension tool?

Read a blog post from the Bitwarden team that said exporting folders one by one avoids the note attachment issue entirely. I had the same problem and @harper_wright is right about the CSV cleanup being a lifesaver. Used the manual web vault import instead of the browser tool and it worked much smoother for me. Still had to fix a few date formats in Excel but got everything transferred in about an hour total.
