Switched from Market Basket flyers to the app, saving $14 a week without clipping
I used to circle deals in the paper every Sunday morning, then forget the torn out coupons on the kitchen counter before heading to the Nashua store. Three weeks ago I finally downloaded the Market Basket app and added the digital coupons straight to my card. Now the discounts just ring up at the register, no paper involved. So far I'm averaging about $14 less per weekly run for the same stuff. Anybody else make the jump and find the app misses some deals the flyer used to have?
Yikes, watch out for the app deals that need you to tap them before you shop. That got me twice already. The flyer deals were automatic once you had the paper in hand, but digital ones sometimes expire at midnight or only work if you load them that same week. I lost a dollar off the deli chicken because I added it Tuesday and shopped Monday. Also check the "just for you" section, since those deals never show up in the paper at all. So you might be missing some flyer stuff but gaining stuff the flyer never had.
