Can we talk about how coupon stacking at CVS used to actually work back in 2011?
I got curious last week and tried to stack paper coupons with the app at my local CVS here in Springfield, mostly because I remembered my mom walking out with a bag of stuff for around $4 back in 2011. What I found out was that the app now fights you at the register, the deals reset at weird hours, and my total came to $31 for stuff that used to run me about $9. I stood there for 10 minutes while the cashier scanned and rescanned, and she finally said "honey, they changed the rules two years ago." That stung a little. Back then you could layer a store coupon, a manufacturer coupon, and a rain check and the register just took them all. Now the app wants you to clip digital offers one at a time and some of them cancel each other out. I did walk away with a $5 off $15 deal that worked fine, so the savings aren't gone, they just moved. Has anyone found a store that still lets you stack paper and digital without a fight, or is that just done everywhere now?
