Rant: figuring out where to park for the Ball Arena show took me 40 minutes

Missed the first opener because I circled around the Auraria lots for 40 minutes before finding out most of them are permit only on game nights. A guy in a yellow vest finally told me to just park at the RTD lot off Colfax and walk, which took 10 minutes. Does anyone have a real backup spot for shows downtown, or do you all just suck it up and pay the $30 garage rate?
