Small meetup at Ferndale library outdid the big Cobo Hall event
I went to that large expo down at Cobo Hall back in March and honestly got lost in the crowd, swapped maybe two business cards with people who weren't even in my field. Last Tuesday a buddy dragged me to a 12 person breakfast group he runs at the Ferndale library and I had more solid leads by 9am than I did all spring. The difference seems to be that everyone there already had a reason to show up beyond just collecting swag, so conversations stayed focused on actual problems we face. Has anyone else noticed these smaller roundtables are where the real deals start, or am I just getting lucky with the crew I found?
