Can we talk about the time a customer made me re-check my valve adjustments?

I had a guy bring in an old Freightliner last month complaining about a miss. I checked everything and told him the injectors were fine. He straight up said "you didn't check the valves close enough" and left. I was pissed but re-did them the next day and found two were way out. Now I ALWAYS double check lash before blaming injectors. Has anyone else had a customer call them out and turn out to be right?

Man I hate when that happens. I used to think valve lash was always fine if the engine sounded okay. But a farmer had me recheck a Cummins ISX last year after I swore it was an injector. Found three intake valves tight. Now I just pull the valve cover first thing. Saves me the embarrassment and the comebacks.
