Appreciation post: My new routine of daily sketching improved my digital art
I started drawing something small every day instead of waiting for big projects. My pieces now feel more lively and get better comments in showcases. What habits have you tried to make your art process smoother?

That bit about your pieces feeling more lively is probably just you getting more comfortable, not actually better. Daily sketching can make you repeat the same safe ideas. It might just burn you out and make your art feel stale.

Honestly that take about "safe ideas" feels way off. Tbh getting comfortable is how you build the skill to try risky stuff later. Daily sketching forces you to push past blank page fear and you end up surprising yourself way more often. If your work feels stale that's a content problem not a practice problem, you gotta change what you're looking at for ideas. Burning out happens if you make every sketch a finished piece, but quick daily stuff keeps the engine running without the pressure.

David_foster25 is right about the blank page thing. I used to get stuck until I started treating sketches like disposable warm-ups, not precious finished work. It's way easier to try weird stuff when you know it's just going in a drawer.
