Dropped $80 on a screen protector for my iPad and it saved my butt last week

I finally got around to getting one of those matte screen protectors for my Procreate work. Cost me about $80 at the local electronics shop in Salem. I was always on the fence because I heard they mess with the colors a bit. Well last week I was working on a commission piece at a coffee shop and my elbow knocked a whole latte right onto the screen. The protector took the hit and the liquid just beaded up on the matte surface. I wiped it off and the iPad was totally fine underneath. Anyone else have a close call that made that accessory purchase worth it?

$80 is steep but cheaper than a new iPad. I once dropped my phone in a toilet and the $10 glass protector saved it while the case did absolutely nothing.

Wait, so your case just watched while the screen protector did all the saving? Honestly that sounds about right, cases are mostly for looks and grip while glass protectors actually take the hit. Ngl I've had a $5 tempered glass on my phone for two years and it's cracked three times while the screen stayed perfect underneath. Tbh at this point I'm convinced screen protectors are just sacrificial lambs for our clumsy hands.
