My art tablet pen nub wore flat in 3 weeks, then the screen started ghosting

I was mid-way through a client commission in Austin last Tuesday when the lines started lagging behind my strokes, and after swapping to the spare nub I had left, I realized the ghosting was actually a cracked digitizer from leaning on the screen, has anyone else had a tablet fail this fast on them?
