Took me like 3 hours to figure out my layer opacity was wrong in Procreate

I was working on this digital portrait for a client and kept wondering why the skin tones looked so muddy. Turns out I had the layer opacity set to 47% by accident for over an hour. Spent another 2 hours redoing all the shading before I even noticed the slider was off. It's such a dumb little thing but it completely wrecked my workflow that day. Has anyone else lost time to a tiny setting you forgot to check?

Three hours on a layer opacity slider? That's rough but also kind of on you for not checking your settings sooner. These little things happen but they're usually a quick fix once you notice. Maybe it was just a bad day for focus rather than a huge disaster.

The thing nobody's mentioning is how layer opacity interacts with different brush blends in Procreate. Like if you're using a wet acrylic brush at 47% opacity, it's going to behave completely different than a round synthetic one at full opacity, and that can trick your eye into thinking your color picking is off when it's really just the brush engine doing weird things with transparency thresholds. Did you happen to switch brush types halfway through? That might have made it even harder to catch the slider.
