Pro tip: I used to hoard emails from 2014 and it was a mess
Last month I finally purged over 2,000 old emails from my Gmail inbox, some dating back to 2014. I used to keep everything because I thought I might need a receipt or a confirmation code later, but it just made important stuff impossible to find. Now I archive anything older than 6 months and only keep active threads visible. Anyone else struggle with letting go of old digital clutter?

Archived after six months? That is wild to me. I just hit "delete" and never look back, no second thoughts. You must have the patience of a saint to sort through all that nostalgia.

I used to think differently about this. I was one of those people who kept every single email because I figured I might need some random confirmation code from a hotel booking from 2016. But then I missed a really important invoice buried under years of junk, and that changed my mind completely. Now I set aside ten minutes every Sunday to clean out old threads and it makes everything way easier to find. Archiving after six months sounds like a solid rule.
