Stripped screw on my monitor arm mount, now I use a ratchet strap trick
Was installing a dual monitor arm on my pine desk last Sunday in my garage. Got the clamp base twisted way too tight and the bolt head just chewed up. Felt like such a dummy. Grabbed my ratchet strap from the truck, wrapped it around the base and the desk edge, cinched it down hard. It's held solid for 3 days now, zero wobble. Anyone else MacGyver their desk parts instead of replacing them?

That "zero wobble" part got me. I once strapped a broken office chair to a cinder block with a bungee cord because the gas cylinder gave out, and it worked for like two months before the cat knocked it over. Ratchet strap is honestly way smarter than my bungee and brick approach, so props to you.
