The $11 level I bought last week beat my $80 one from 3 years ago
Went to Harbor Freight in Phoenix because my old level had a bubble that wouldn't sit still, figured it'd be garbage but it's dead on. Has anyone else had cheap tools outdo the expensive ones on a desk build?

Heard a guy on the radio talk about how tool companies charge more for the name and the warranty, not always for the accuracy. My dad always swore by the fancy brands, said you get what you pay for. But honestly, a level is just a straight edge with a glass tube, and if the cheap one holds its bubble, it's doing the job. I've had a $40 tape measure that was off by an eighth, but the $5 one from the gas station was spot on. It's like they figured out the basic tech years ago and now it's all about marketing and how it looks in your bag. Good for you for not wasting the cash, that $80 one probably just sat in your truck looking pretty.
