Watched a guy at the Columbus woodworking show fix a wobbling desk with a door shim in under 2 minutes

A door shim under a desk leg is a band aid, not a fix. That leg is still gonna wobble again the second somebody leans on it or the humidity changes, because shims compress and work their way out over time. Real fix is to find out why it wobbles, could be a loose bolt, a cracked apron, or the floor itself being unlevel. Guy got it stable for the show floor and that's about it.
