My old plotter decided to die right before a big client review

It was a 36 inch HP DesignJet from 2015 that just stopped feeding paper halfway through a full set of E1 plans last Thursday. I had to run to a local print shop in Springfield and pay $75 to get the rest done on time. The tech said the main feed roller assembly was completely worn out. Has anyone had good luck with a newer wide format printer that doesn't cost a fortune?

Stopped feeding paper halfway through a full set of E1 plans" is the absolute worst timing. That's the kind of thing that makes your stomach drop. I had an old printer do something similar right before a deadline once, and it's pure panic. For a newer one, I've heard decent things about the Epson SureColor series for not breaking the bank completely. They seem to run more reliably than some of the other options. Just make sure you check the cost of the ink carts before you buy, because that's where they get you.

My friend's Canon jammed right on page 48 of his thesis draft last month.
