Just changed my mind about facial steaming after a trip to the Korean spa

I was at King Spa in Dallas last weekend and noticed they had these huge, open steam rooms (the kind you sit in, not the little facial ones). I saw a woman with what looked like rosacea come out after about 15 minutes and her skin looked calm, not red and angry. It made me rethink my strict 'no steam for sensitive skin' rule I've had for years. Has anyone else had good results with very short, mild steam sessions for clients with redness?

Honestly, that makes total sense to me. I've seen the same thing with my own skin when I take a hot shower, the heat seems to calm things down for a bit instead of making it worse. It's like we get these hard rules in our head about what's bad for us, but sometimes a little bit of the "wrong" thing is exactly what we need. Maybe it's all about finding that sweet spot instead of saying never.

That's really interesting, my own rosacea makes me so nervous to try steam.

What if it actually helps?
