My grandma's pie crust went from tough to perfect in one year
She used to use cold water and a fork, but after watching a cooking show in Boise last fall, she switched to vodka and a food processor. The flake is unreal now. Is a special liquid or tool really worth it for a family recipe, or is that just extra fuss?

Honestly I used to think those local shows were kind of lame. But I caught one from a station in Omaha last year. The host was just this grandma making her noodle casserole. No fancy stuff. It felt real, like someone's actual kitchen. Totally changed how I see those shows now. They have a vibe the big networks just can't copy.
