Spent a whole day on a single post hole because of a hidden concrete slab
Got a job in an older part of town and the client said the yard was clear. My auger hit something solid about a foot down on the first corner post spot. Thought it was a rock, but after digging around it, found a full 2-foot square concrete slab from some old shed base. Had to break it up with a sledge and a digging bar. That one hole took me from 7 AM to almost 4 PM. Anyone else ever find something wild buried where a fence line was supposed to go?

Yeah, that concrete slab is a killer. Always probe the ground with a rebar rod first, before you even get the auger out. Hits something solid, you know to start digging by hand. Saves you wrecking your equipment and your whole day.

Find anything cool in the rubble?

Just saw a whole intact teacup sitting there like nothing happened, @verafoster. That's wild after everything came down. Makes you wonder how some stuff just survives like that, lmao. Honestly the randomness of it all is the weirdest part.
