A regular at the Springfield flea market told me I was digging through bins all wrong
He saw me just grabbing the top stuff and said, 'Kid, the good stuff is always at the bottom, you gotta commit.' Last Saturday I spent an extra 20 minutes at the bottom of a vinyl bin and found a near-mint 1978 Boston album for $2. I would have totally missed it before. Anyone else have a simple tip that upped their find game?

Check the middle layers too, not just the bottom. People often hide decent stuff in the middle to come back for it later. Found a great jacket that way someone had tucked under some junk.

That's a solid tip from @taylor.paige. What kind of jacket was it, and did you ever see someone come back looking for it?

Oh man, that's a classic thrift store move. @taylor.paige is right, you really do have to dig. I once watched a guy hide a set of vintage car manuals behind a stack of old National Geographics. He walked away, and I swear he circled back like twenty minutes later looking real casual. By then, of course, they were long gone. Some people treat the place like their own personal storage locker.
